In this workshop series, we will learn to chant the third chapter of the Taittirīya Upanishad, Bhrguvalli. It describes the conversation of Varuni with his son Bhrgu, in which the father encourages his son to meditate and reflect on the essence of life - creation, sustenance and passing on - in order to gain deep Self-knowledge.

The Bhagavad Gita is a text from ancient India beloved by millions around the world because it speaks to the heart. It addresses questions of responsibility, how to find meaning in life, what to do in the face of conflicting priorities, and much more. In this workshop, we will study the text, chanting some of it in Sanskrit and exploring its themes through experiential exercises. The recommended translation is that by Winthrop Sargeant.

As we refine our yoga practice, we become increasingly aware of not only how our body changes, but our energy and quality of attention as well. We will highlight some key asana adaptations and also focus on our ability to observe, apply and adapt the more subtle tools of yoga such as breath, nyasa and sound in practice. The application of these various tools can have a profound effect on one’s overall system and can be of great benefit for group and private classes.
